The Napoleon was developed by Joe Smith, through the intentional mating of the Munchkins to the Persians. They have long or short coats and large beautiful eyes. They have more of a Doll face(rounded) persian look and a softer thicker coat than the Munchkins. They gained acceptance to Registration only in TICA in February 2005. They are still looking to advance to the new breeds and hopefully someday will be in the showhalls.

The Napoleons are not to look like the Munchkins other than its characteristics of the short front legs, nor are they to look like a Persian or Exotic Shorthairs on short legs. This breed is being developed to create a new type of cat with traits taken from each of the other founding breeds.  They come in both short and long coats and all colors.
